Fusion Lifestyle and Oxford City Council are pleased to announce that leisure facilities at Ferry and Leys Pools and Leisure Centres, and Oxford Ice Rink are now open.

Oxford is under Tier 2 restrictions and the centres will be operating under new government guidelines.  The gyms and swimming pools at the centres will be open and will also be offering group exercise, outdoor and indoor sports.  All indoor sports bookings need to be with your household or support bubble.  All junior activities for under 18s, and activities for those with disabilities are unaffected.

The centres will continue to operate in line with government safety guidelines and those planning to visit will be required to book and pay online, minimising contact required at the centre and allowing for the track and trace process to be implemented.  Gym users will be asked to arrive ready to work out, and swimmers with their costumes under their clothes, ready to go.  These measures, combined with meticulous cleaning routines, are designed to keep customers safe and offer complete confidence to use the facilities and classes when they return to the centre.

Fusion Lifestyle and Oxford City Council are working towards reopening Barton Leisure Centre dry side soon.  Members awaiting this opening, are assured that their memberships are transferable, and anyone who would like to visit the open centres in their area can do so.

“It’s great news that the Leys Leisure Centre, the Ferry Centre and Oxford's ice rink have reopened and Fusion have implemented COVID safe-measures so that people can be confident to get back to exercise. Whether you want to have a serious workout or a family trip to the ice rink it’s wonderful to have the opportunity to enjoy our leisure centres safely again. We are still working with Fusion on plans to re-open our remaining facilities as we continue our phased and financially sustainable return of leisure services."

Councillor Linda Smith, Cabinet Member for Parks and Leisure

“We can’t wait to welcome the community back to enjoy keeping fit and healthy.  Keeping active has never been more important and we are ready to open our doors.  We will continue to offer our Fusion at Home service for those unable to get to a centre to everyone can continue to enjoy their regular fitness fixes.”

Anthony Cawley, Director of Operations at Fusion
