Are you interested in starting your own street food business? Do you have an existing site and would like to expand?

Oxford City Council is inviting applications to trade from a newly-vacant street trading site in a prime city centre location.

The street trading site is outside 25 George Street, Oxford, and was previously occupied by Oxford Kebab Stop and Bite.

The Council is keen to encourage a wide range of food and drink in the city, so would particularly welcome applications from businesses who offer foods currently under-represented elsewhere.

We also welcome new and innovative businesses and street trading vehicles of smart appearance that will fit in with the surrounding area.

Oxford’s street traders achieve high standards of hygiene, quality and environmental sustainability. Our newly revised Street Trading Policy has taken this further, ending the use of single use plastic and polystyrene.

Before submitting an application, prospective traders will need to read Oxford City Council’s Street Trading Policy before filling in an application.

For further information, or to discuss your potential application, please contact the Business Regulation Team:

Please note the deadline for applications is Friday 30 June 2023.

This advertisement is provided in accordance with the Council’s Street Trading Policy 2023, which states: "The Council will advertise new unallocated or vacant sites on the Council’s website for 28 days. Applications will be referred to the Council’s Licensing Sub-Committee who will use the criteria listed at paragraph 5.8 of this policy to make their determination."
