There will be almost 30 street parties in Oxford to celebrate His Majesty King Charles the Third’s Coronation over the Bank Holiday weekend in May.
The Coronation will be on Saturday 6 May, and street parties are set to take place over the weekend across the country to mark the historic occasion.
Oxford City Council received almost 30 temporary road closure licence applications to allow street parties to take place before the deadline to apply passed.
This should be a wonderful long weekend with street parties and other celebrations across the city to mark the Coronation.
“The street parties offer our city’s diverse communities an opportunity to celebrate. I hope that neighbours will enjoy this chance to come together and mark this once in a generation occasion.”
The Lord Mayor of Oxford, Councillor James Fry
The Big Help Out, on Monday 8 May, encourages residents and community groups to get involved in volunteering on the Bank Holiday, to make a difference in their local areas.
