Oxford City Council is set to restart the redevelopment of East Oxford Games Hall.
The site, in Collins Street, will be redeveloped into 14 affordable homes – all shared ownership flats – which will help fund the £5.9m redevelopment of nearby East Oxford Community Centre.
The East Oxford Community Centre redevelopment will create larger, more flexible and more environmentally friendly community space, including a new three-storey community building.
East Oxford Games Hall redevelopment
East Oxford Games Hall has been closed since the pandemic, but protestors gained access to it in June.
The protestors were evicted later the same month after the City Council was granted an interim possession order for the building.
The redevelopment of the games hall can restart after a District Judge at the County Court at Oxford made a final order for possession earlier today (8 August).
The City Council hopes to start the process of demolishing the building next week.
