ODS has started the New Year on a high, having just been granted the prestigious ISO 45001 award.

ISO 45001 is an international standard that lays down the requirements for health and safety management. It is designed to help organisations reduce workplace risks, enhance health and safety training, ensure legal compliance, and improve overall performance.

The journey to gain accreditation started in June 2021, with various internal and external audits taking place. Its achievement recognises the hard work that ODS staff have put into ensuring the organisation is fully compliant when it comes to health and safety and that the correct systems are in place to make sure all ODS staff work in a safe environment

The accreditation lasts for three years, with external audits every year. The news means that ODS has added to the number of ISO accreditations they hold: the organisation has also been awarded the environmental management standard ISO 14001 and quality management standard ISO 9001, forming an integrated management system (IMS). These are due for review next year, so ODS have asked that ISO 45001 is also reviewed then to “sync- up” the dates.
