Plans to build ten new affordable homes on Lanham Way, Littlemore, have been approved by Oxford City Council.
The plans were approved by the Council’s planning committee on Thursday 22 September.
The Council’s housing company, OX Place, will manage the project. The intention is to build six two-bedroom semi-detached two-storey houses and four three-bedroom semi-detached three-storey houses on the brownfield site, formerly a playing fields depot.
The entire site is proposed as 50% affordable social rent and 50% shared ownership.
The design will be complementary to Littlemore’s village surroundings and atmosphere. For example, front gardens with low boundary stone walls will ensure the new homes blend in with the character of the existing neighbourhood.
The development will aim for carbon emissions 40% below current building regulations by using eco-friendly building materials and sustainable features like solar panels and air source heat pumps.
