It boasts a colourful misty rainbow, shooting water sprays and water fountains as well as grassed areas and picnic benches.

Councillor Linda Smith, Oxford City Council Board Member for Leisure, Parks and Sports said: "I'm really excited about the Splash Play Area re-opening for the Summer season, and I can't wait to take my kids this weekend for lots of splashing about in the fresh air. The Splash Area is fantastic fun for children and it's completely free of charge. So why not pack a picnic and combine it with some of the other attractions on offer in lovely Hinksey Park".

Hinksey Splash is just one of several water based activities that can be enjoyed in Hinksey Park. Hinksey Outdoor Pool, adjacent to the splash will also be open every day until the end of September or you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the boating lake or Hinksey Lake.

The park also has a play area, sand pit, table tennis, tennis and courts, meadow area, allotments and grass area for picnics or informal games.

Located  just a short 15 minute walk or cycle ride, from the centre of Oxford, off Abingdon Road, Hinksey Park is a wonderful green and watery haven for people and wildlife.
