The public toilets in Market Street were closed last week following the collapse of part of the ceiling in the disabled facility.

The City Council has now reopened the gents’ toilet, but the ladies’ toilet remains closed due to an unsafe ceiling and is likely to remain closed for some time. The disabled toilet also remains closed.

The Council is looking to install portaloos as soon as possible as a temporary alternative.

The closest alternative toilets are in the Town Hall, Magdalen Street, and Gloucester Green. M&S and food outlets such as McDonalds, Pret, Burger King have facilities within the premises. The Town Hall toilets are closed on Sunday.
