Oxford City Council is urging local businesses to apply as soon as possible for the Government’s Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant scheme.

The scheme, which provides grants of up to £6,000 to hospitality, leisure and accommodation businesses, is administered by Oxford City Council.

It provides one-off support to hospitality, leisure and accommodation businesses, in recognition of the impact the rise of the Omicron variant will have had on some businesses.

The aim of the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant scheme is to support businesses:

  • that offer in-person services
  • where the main service and activity takes place in a fixed rate-paying premises
  • in the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors

“The Council wants to do everything it can to support local businesses through what has been yet another challenging time. With Omicron on the rise in the pre-Christmas period, a number of businesses will have lost trade they were counting on to help them recoup previous losses.

“The funding that has been made available has to be used within the financial year 2021/ 2022, so the Council is encouraging businesses to check their eligibility and apply as soon as possible.”

Councillor Susan Brown, Leader of Oxford City Council

Businesses can check their eligibility and apply on the Grant Approval website.
