Businesses have until Thursday 31 December to apply for previous rounds of coronavirus financial support.

The Government grants, which Oxford City Council facilitates in Oxford, scale depending on the tier of the area that the business is in.

Businesses have until the end of the month to apply for two rounds of financial support:

  • Grants for businesses that were financially impacted by Oxford being in Tier 2 local restrictions between 31 October and 4 November
  • Grants for businesses that were financially impacted by the second lockdown between 5 November and 2 December

To apply for the grants, and for more information about the financial support that is available for businesses in Oxford, please visit the Business support webpages.

There are further grants available to businesses that were financially impacted by Oxford moving back into Tier 2 between 2 and 25 December, but the deadline for applications is in 2021.

The City Council is waiting for information from the Government about the financial support that will be available to Oxford businesses impacted by the city moving into Tier 4 from Boxing Day (Saturday 26 December).

Since the first lockdown in March, the City Council has facilitated more than £27m of Government grants to support around 2,600 businesses in Oxford through the coronavirus pandemic.

“It has been an awful year for many businesses in Oxford, but there is financial support available to help.

“So if you own a business in Oxford that was financially impacted by the city being in Tier 2 or the second lockdown, please apply before the 31 December deadline.”

Councillor Mary Clarkson, Cabinet Member for City Centre, Covered Market and Culture
