The recent plunge in temperatures to below freezing has meant some bins’ content has frozen making it impossible to empty them.
ODS regrets it will not be able to return to empty any such bins meaning these bins cannot be emptied until the next scheduled collection date.
It is likely that only a small number of bins are affected. Garden waste bins are more likely to be affected as they contain more moisture which may freeze and cause the contents to become stuck in the bin.
On the morning of your bin collection we ask that you loosen the bin contents and check that the lid will open.
