Two of ODS' talented young staff have each scooped a 35 under 35 award.

Each year 35 under 35 identifies young guns in the recycling and waste industry who are striving for professional excellence, promoting industry innovation and giving back to their company and community. The judges aim to honour people under the age of 35 who have helped to progress their business in a notable way.

This year ODS Recycling Project Officer, Bill Byfield and Recycling Project Coordinator, Laura Baughan received the awards for showing vision, creativity and determination at a ceremony on 23 January 2020 in London.

"I am delighted to have received the 35 under 35 award. It is a real honour to be recognised within the recycling and waste industry for the hard work and dedication I put into my work. I love the work that I do and it's a real privilege to have received this for a second consecutive year."

"In recycling, I’ve found a job I’m passionate about, so it’s an honour and a privilege to receive the 35 under 35 award. This award shines a light on the great work that goes on all across the ‘bindustry’, and hopefully it will help people to recognise how important that work is to create a sustainable future.”

"I know that ODS aims to employ some of the most talented people around and these national awards confirm that. ODS is providing excellent career opportunities for young people in Oxford and Bill and Laura have shown that working there can lead to industry-wide recognition for up-and-coming talent.

"These awards reaffirm ODS' values of "doing good" - being a business that is good for both employees and the communities it works for.

"My congratulations to Laura and Bill."
