There will be changes to the opening hours at our St Aldate's Chambers Customer Service Centre and telephone Contact Centre over the Christmas and New Year period.

Recycling and Waste Collections

Normal collections resume week beginning 6 January 2020.

If you have more recycling than will fit in the blue bin, please place it neatly by the side of your bin on collection day in a cardboard box or a clear bag. We are unable to collect recycling in black bags.

Garden waste collections, bulky waste collections and bin deliveries/retrievals will be suspended over the Christmas period from 24 December to 7 January 2020. We will not be taking bookings for these services.

All services will resume on 7 January 2020.

Car Parks

All of our car parks will be in full operation over the Christmas and New year period, with the exception of Gloucester Green car park.

Gloucester Green Car Park will close at midnight on 24 December 2019 and will remain closed through Christmas day. The car park opens for business again at 7.30am on 26 December 2019. No vehicles will be able to enter or exit the car park during this period.

We will not charge for parking in any of our car parks on Christmas Day, however, payments made in error will not be refunded. Our normal charges will recommence on 26 December 2019.

Oxford's cemeteries will be open as normal during the Christmas period.

Oxfordshire County Council Services - Including Libraries and Recycling Centres

Christmas tree recycling

Christmas trees will be collected on your blue/brown bin collection day. You can leave your real and naked - lights, decorations and pots removed - Christmas tree next to your blue bin/sacks or brown bin (if you have a subscription) between 7 January and 31 January 2020 for recycling. Christmas trees with lights, decorations and pots still attached will not be collected, as these items cannot be composted.

You can also drop trees off at one of the following collection points across the city (note these are open ealier than the kerbside collection service). If you live in a flat, please do not leave your tree in the bin store, take it to one of the collection points below.
