Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing and vaccination

Symptom-free Testing

Everyone in England now has access to free rapid lateral flow device tests to use twice a week. One in three people with COVID-19 do not experience any symptoms and may be spreading the virus without knowing. Rapid testing detects cases quickly, and using these tests twice a week means that those with coronavirus can isolate immediately and reduce the spread of COVID.

This expanded regular testing offer for those without symptoms will be delivered through:

  • Workplace testing programmes
  • Secondary school and college testing
  • Community testing at symptom-free sites
  • Collection of home test kits from any local testing site
  • A home ordering service

A new pharmacy collection service is also launching to provide an additional route to regular testing. Testing through all of these routes is free.

Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 will need to self-isolate immediately and book a confirmatory PCR test. For further information on the options for symptom-free testing visit Oxfordshire County Council's website.
