Anti-idling air quality campaign

Banner competition

Oxford City Council and Friends of the Earth Oxford are running an Air Quality Banner competition from 15 January until Friday 6 March 2020 for children in school years three to six across Oxford.

The entries, which should be created around the themes: air pollution and health, and the promotion of sustainable modes of transport such as cycling and walking, must be designed by hand in A3 or A4 portrait layout and should contain the slogan of the Stop Project campaign, “Oxford Air Needs Your Care”.

The winning poster may be used by the Council in further publications and promotions, as a way to promote environmental sustainability.

The winning school’s entry will benefit from publicity in the press as well as receiving the prize of £250 worth of play time equipment. “Oxford air needs your care” t-shirts will also be distributed to the classroom that was involved in the development of the art work. Taking part in the competition will also help your school’s chance of winning one of Oxford Friends of the Earth’s Schools ‘Green Badge’ Award.  Winners will be announced on Clean Air Day, June 18th, 2020.
