To avoid missed collections please follow this guide to how, when and where to put your waste out for collection

Assisted collections

If you are blind, partially sighted or physically unable to move your wheelie bins, you may qualify for help with collections. Please get in touch with us and we'll arrange for a recycling officer to visit to discuss your needs and arrange any necessary assistance.

Put your bins out on time

  • Put your bins and sacks out before 7am on collection day and no sooner than 6pm the night before
  • Recycling and rubbish are collected fortnightly on alternate weeks
  • Food waste is collected every week on the same day as recycling and rubbish
  • Remove your empty bins from the pavement as soon as possible after collection - leaving sacks or bins on pavements in between collections causes obstructions to other users, especially wheelchair users and people with pushchairs

Put your bins out properly

  • Put your bins and sacks at the edge of your property, clearly visible to the collection crews
  • If your road is particularly narrow, please put your bin out as close as possible to the boundary of your property
  • Our collection crews should not have to walk onto your property or move any obstacles (including the opening of gates) to retrieve your bin

Prepare your waste for collection

  • All rubbish (non-recyclable waste) must be presented in an Oxford City Council lilac sack or green bin with the lid closed
  • Additional rubbish left outside the green wheelie bin will not be collected
  • Additional recycling will be collected if it's put out properly, see what to do with extra waste
