The Museum is a short walk from Gloucester Green coach station and the Oxford Visitor Information Centre, and 10 minutes' walk from the train station.
The entrance to the Town Hall is on St Aldate's street and the Museum of Oxford's Explore Oxford galleries are just to your right as you enter the Town Hall. Please be aware that scaffolding will be constructed outside the main front entrance of the Oxford Town Hall from Sunday 16th October to mid-December. This is to access the main flag pole on the roof to carry out essential maintenance work. Access will still be possible through the front entrance and the level entrance however there will be limited space on the pavement on St Aldates outside the venue. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

We are normally closed when the Town Hall closes, as such, will be closed on:

We will also have a few days over Christmas where the Museum will close at 3.30pm

The Museum of Oxford has free to access public WiFi. Simply connect to Oxford Free Wi-Fi, launch your browser and click the Connect button in the centre of the screen.
The Town Hall has a ground level entrance located just off of the High Street, on the immediate left past Edinburgh Woollen Mill. Please press the door buzzer to gain access and turn right once inside the building.

- Fully accessible toilets in the Town Hall

As the Town Hall and Museum are based in the centre of Oxford, there are plenty of bike stands to lock you bike to. The front of the Town Hall has several iron rings and there are bike stands just outside Santander Bank, opposite the Town Hall.
The best way to visit the Museum and city if you do need to take the car is to use one of the Park and Ride services available. The Museum is a short walk from all central stops on these services. Visit our Park and Ride pages for more information.
