To make all of the spaces ready for builders and new exhibitions to be installed, the Museum’s Explore Oxford galleries and Gallery will close at 5pm on Saturday the 28th of April. During the summer, we will redisplay as many of the exhibitions as possible in our Gallery space. We will be opening a Micro-Museum in October. This will be a temporary exhibition so you can still find out about the history of Oxford whilst we work on building the new Museum of Oxford

As the Town Hall and Museum are based in the centre of Oxford, there are plenty of bike stands to lock you bike to. The front of the Town Hall has several iron rings and there are bike stands just outside Santander Bank, opposite the Town Hall.
The best way to visit the Museum and city if you do need to take the car is to use one of the Park and Ride services available. The Museum is a short walk from all central stops on these services. Visit our Park and Ride pages for more information.
There are also car parks within the centre of Oxford. We recommend Oxpens car park. More information about charges and accessibility is available on our Car Parks pages.
