Parish Council elections in Oxford

Elections for 34 seats on 2 parish councils are also scheduled for Thursday 6 May 2021, as follows (number of seats shown in brackets):

  • Littlemore Parish Council – 16 seats – Bodley Road (2), Littlemore (13), Sandy Lane West (1)
  • Risinghurst & Sandhills Parish Council – 20 seats – Risinghurst North (9), Risinghurst South (3), Sandhills (5), Wood Farm (3)

The elections for these seats were postponed in May 2020, meaning that the councillors elected will serve a three-year term, to May 2024.

There is one casual vacancy, for a seat in Old Marston Parish Council, and that will also be filled on 6 May. The person elected will serve until May 2022.

Candidates’ Nominations – Parish Elections

Candidates’ nominations for the Parish elections have to be submitted to the Returning Officer, via The Town Hall, St. Aldate’s, Oxford, OX1 1BX from Thursday 25 March 2021 and by no later than 4 pm on Thursday 8 April 2021.

Nomination Papers will be available from the Returning Officer from mid- March. For more information about nominations please contact Electoral Services.

The names and descriptions of the candidates nominated will be available on this page as soon as possible after the closing time of 4 pm on Thursday 8 April 2021

Please note that nomination papers for candidates will not be available from the Council’s website, but will be supplied by the Elections Office, on request. You could conact teh parisn clerk, who may be able to supply you with a papaer copy.

Alternatively, they may be downloaded from the Electoral Commission website as noted above. If using the forms from the Commission, it is essential that you print all the necessary documents in full.
