New bin requests

Getting a larger or additional bin

If you have extra recycling you can place it neatly by the side of your blue recycling bin or sack in a cardboard box or a clear plastic bag. More information about putting out extra waste.

If you live in an HMO (House of Multiple Occupancy) or flat site, it is your landlord's responsibility to provide bins. Please ask your landlord to contact us directly.

Eligibility for a larger or additional bin

  • Blue recycling bins - If you regularly produce more recycling than can fit into your blue recycling bin you may be eligible for a larger or additional bin.
  • Green rubbish bin - Most households are not eligible for a larger or additional green rubbish bin. In exceptional circumstances, if you regularly produce more rubbish than can fit into your green rubbish bin you may be eligible for a larger or additional bin. Larger green bins will not be issued unless all recyclable material is being recycled. This includes food waste - if we find food waste in your green bin, we will not provide a larger one.

All larger or additional bins are subject to assessment and approval from one of our officers. If you wish to be assessed for a larger or additional bin please contact us using the details at the bottom of the page.

Food caddies

If you need an additional or replacement food recycling caddy, you can collect one free of charge from St Aldate's customer service centre or Marsh Road Depot.
