Our third community exhibition will feature stories behind Oxford’s queer spaces. From our local gay and lesbian pubs to printed publications, from support organisations to the Gay and Lesbian Community Centre on St Michael’s Street, we will showcase individuals’ memories and experiences of these spaces through oral histories, photographs and objects. The exhibition has been created in partnership with the Tales of Our City project and Oxford Pride, and co-curated by members of Oxford’s LGBTIQA+ community.

Fake news, nuclear threats and fear. Peace-time in 2019 or the Cold War of 1952?

Hosted by the Museum of Oxford’s Youth Panel, step back in time and visit Oxford during the Cold War to see just how much of our lives today are echoes of the past.

During this immersive night, the power will be in your hands to start or prevent a nuclear war in our Cold War Escape Room. If you do survive, you will be able to explore fears and protests of Oxford people through oral history recordings and activities, while sharing your own hopes and fears for the future of our society over a Cold War-themed drink.

    Young people welcome!
