We’re saying #ThanksToYou to National Lottery players with a free book and a 30% discount in our gift shop.

This year is the 25th birthday of the National Lottery, and we’re excited to be a part of the celebrations by joining in the #ThanksToYou campaign, which celebrates the contribution of National Lottery players in supporting good causes over the past 25 years!

The Museum of Oxford would love to say thank you to all the National Lottery players who helped generate funding for our brand new museum. Without the support of the fund, contributed to by players all over the UK, the completion of the museum’s Oxford’s Hidden Histories project would not be possible. This funding will allow the Museum of Oxford to showcase Oxford people’s stories and history while highlighting the city’s diverse cultural heritage.

So, to thank National Lottery players for their support, we will be offering the first fifty ticket holders a free copy of “The Story of Oxford,” a book detailing Oxford’s vibrant history, and a 30% discount in the gift shop. This offer runs between the 23 and 30 November, excluding Sunday 24 November 2019. Please check our full terms and conditions.

Our third community exhibition will feature stories behind Oxford’s queer spaces. From our local gay and lesbian pubs to printed publications, from support organisations to the Gay and Lesbian Community Centre on St Michael’s Street, we will showcase individuals’ memories and experiences of these spaces through oral histories, photographs and objects. The exhibition has been created in partnership with the Tales of Our City project and Oxford Pride, and co-curated by members of Oxford’s LGBTIQA+ community.
