Professor Daley will explore how Caribbean migrants of the Windrush generation constructed "home" on the island of Britain in a country that they thought they had prior knowledge and some familiarity. Making "home" will be considered in the decoration of the living spaces, through the sociality of family,  friends, and the wider black community, as well as attachment to the towns and cities in which people settled.

Professor Daley is Professor of the Human Geography of Africa at the University of Oxford.

Doors open at 1.30pm for refreshments.

Please note that this event is now fully booked.
