Oxford City Council Discretionary Grant Fund

Apply for a Discretionary Grant

This grant scheme widens access to support to small businesses with fixed property-related costs who are struggling to survive due to the coronavirus shutdown, and are unable to access other grant funding. Oxford City Council is aiming to make the first payments to successful applicants in early July 2020.

You can apply for the first round of funding if you in one of the following groups:

  • Small businesses in shared offices or other flexible workspaces, which do not have a business rates assessment.
  • Regular market traders with fixed property costs, who do not have their own business rates assessment.
  • Bed and breakfasts which pay Council Tax instead of Business Rates.
  • Charities in properties in receipt of charitable business rates relief which would otherwise have been eligible for Small Business Rates Relief.

For further information on eligibility please see our Discretionary Grant Fund guidance before applying.

What you can get

The City Council has been awarded £1.265m to distribute, with businesses and charities able to receive up to £10,000 from the Council as financial support in this round of funding.

Application deadline

The deadline for applications is 23:59 on Sunday 14 June 2020, with first payments being made to businesses in early July.
