The Meadow is a picturesque and fairly large green space just beneath Magdalen Bridge, surrounded on both sides by the River Cherwell.

It is located in walking distance to the city centre and has excellent transport links.

How to Get there

Active Travel: 15 minutes’ walk and 5 minutes’ cycle to the city centre.

Public transport: Nearby bus stops on High Street, St Clement’s, Cowley Road & Iffley Road; 400 P&R Service to and from Thornhill on St Clement’s.

Parking: No suitable onsite parking for event attendees; nearest public car park is St Clements.

Key Considerations
  • Access width for vehicles: 2.55m
  • Access from Bath Street is via a small bridge with a maximum weight of 7 tonnes. No access for HGVs
  • The Meadow is managed by Oxford City Council through a lease with Magdalen College. Only events with a recreational purpose are permitted
  • It may flood during periods of prolonged heavy rain.
