Can you deal with noisy DIY work?

Yes we can deal with this in the same way as other domestic noise but it is treated differently from construction sites. Most people do DIY when they are not at work, so this can often mean evening and weekend work. We would not normally take enforcement action against somebody carrying out DIY for short periods of time, for example, if they are putting up shelves or fitting a new kitchen. Our advice is that you try to reach agreement with your neighbours on times for carrying out noisy work that are acceptable to both parties.
