How does the Council raise money to pay for its services?
This year we plan to spend £67m on general fund services. Only £11m of this will come from Council Tax. We get £13.7m from our National Non-Domestic Rates (NNDR), £6.3m from commercial rents and £2.3m from Revenue support grants. The remainder comes from fees and charges, including £6.6m from our car parks, £4.2m from Leisure and Cultural Services and £8.8m from City Works (including motor transport, recycling, engineering and street cleaning)
For more details see our budget pages.
