How many staff work for the City Council?

The City Council employs 1617 members of staff.  This equates to 1336 full time equivalents.  Our numbers fluctuate throughout the year as some of our services are seasonal.

Our three main areas of employment are Oxford City Homes, in the building maintenance programme, City Works, in the refuse collection services, and Leisure and Cultural Services, in our leisure centres and parks.
