Welcome to Oxford

Westgate Compulsory Purchase Order Inquiry

The Public Inquiry into the Oxford City Council (Redevelopment and Extension of the Westgate Shopping Centre) Compulsory Purchase Order 2007 started at 10am on Tuesday 4 December 2007 in the Long Room at Oxford Town Hall, St Aldate's, Oxford.

The Order was made in May 2007, to ensure that a small number of properties and property rights required for the scheme, and not currently owned by the Council or the Westgate Partnership, can be acquired.

A number of objections to the Order have been made, necessitating the Public Inquiry. An Inspector will determine whether the Order should be confirmed by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government. Formal Notices of the Inquiry are posted at the Town Hall, and Ramsay House offices, and hard copies of the following Core Documents can also be inspected at Ramsay House.

Please note that some of the following documents are quite large and may take some time to download especially if you have a dial up Internet connection.
