The Oxford Local Plan 2001-2016 was adopted on the 11 Nov 2005. The Local Plan sets out the detailed framework for our land use policies. All planning applications are considered against the policies of the Local Plan. The adopted Local Plan must be read in conjunction with saved policies direction letter below.

Three years from the adoption of the Local Plan, we are expected to set out which Local Plan policies have been saved for continued use and which policies have been deleted. We received a letter from the Government confirming the position. The adopted Local Plan must be read in conjunction with this letter. The Saved Policies come into effect from 11 Nov 2008 (exactly three years from the adoption of the Local Plan).

Hard copies of the Local Plan text and Proposals Map are available for purchase.
Hard copies can be viewed in our Ramsay House and Blue Boar Street offices and the Central Library at the Westgate Shopping Centre.
