Building Control ensures the health and safety of people in and around buildings. It protects the public by ensuring the legal requirements for building design and construction are complied with.
We are dedicated to providing builders, architects, other construction professionals and the general public with a professional service, which is responsive, efficient and cost-effective. Oxford Building Control Services is Quality Assurance Registered to ISO 9001:2000.
Builders and Developers are required by the Building Regulations and legislation contained in the Building Act 1984 to obtain building control approval. This is an independent check that the Building Regulations have been complied with. Please see the document below for a guide to Building Regulations:

Building Control Officers are available Monday to Friday before 10.00am and there is usually an Officer or Technical Administrator around during the day if you need some advice or would like to book a meeting. You can also email queries or book an inspection from the contact panel on the right
Please note that it is worthwhile contacting the Planning department to check whether permission is required for your development.
