There are currently two methods of applying for Building Regulations Approval, a 'Full Plans' submission, or a 'Building Notice'.
The application form necessary for either method can be downloaded below:

You can also submit an application online by visiting our Planning Portal website.
Whether you use the Full Plans or Building Notice method, you are required to notify the Council office at certain stages of the construction. An 'Information Note' is sent to you with your Plan Approval Notice. We will endeavour to carry out same-day inspections if we are notified before 10am.
The Building (Local Authority Charges) Regulations 1998 require Local Authorities to set fees payable for their Building Regulation Function. These fees cover any necessary consultations, the checking of plans, all site inspections and the associated administration work.
You can now pay Building Control Fees online using a credit or debit card on our payments page.
Details of all of our fees can be obtained by contacting us using the details on the right of this page.
