Welcome to Oxford

Environmental Photo Reporting

What is the Environmental Photo Reporting Scheme?

We are encouraging you to send us pictures of environmental incidents in the city. These will be posted on our website. You can then check back and see when the problem has been removed. We want to show you that we're serious about cleaning up the city and, with your help, we can make Oxford a more pleasant place to live.

Following the success of the one month trial of this scheme in October 2007, the scheme will now run until February 2008 when it will be reassessed again.

What type of problems can I send in images of?

For this trial period, we would like you to send us images of the following environmental issues occuring within the Oxford city boundaries:

  • graffiti
  • abandoned vehicles

Please do not send pictures of incidents if they occur on privately owned land or private buildings as the Council will not be able to remove them.

For advice on removing graffiti or abandoned vehicles from private land, please phone City Works on 01865 252900.

Any other problems such as needles, dog fouling and dead animals should be reported via our Report It page.

How do I send in an image of an environmental problem?

To send in a picture of an environmental problem in your area, please attach the picture to an email and send to:

photoreporting@oxford.gov.uk

Please provide the exact location of the problem, including the postcode if know.

How long will it take for my problem to be fixed?

When you report a problem we will endeavour to meet the following timescales:

  • Graffiti - obscene or racist graffiti is targetted for one working day. Non obscene or non racist graffiti is targetted for 14 working days
  • Abandoned vehicles - if dangerous targetted for one working day. All other material by the end of the prescribed notice period attached to car by Officer

Where can I view images of environmental problems?

Please see our Environmental Images pages for the relevant month to see the problems that have been reported to us and what we have done to deal with the problem. Please note that due to the large number of images on these pages, people with a dial-up internet connection may find the page is slow to upload:

What if I have sent in a photo of a problem and it is not shown on the page?

We will endeavour to put all images provided onto the website but we reserve the right to withhold certain images.

If your image is withheld from the site we will inform you why this has happened and what we are doing to resolve the issue.

Terms and Conditions

By sending in photographs you are consenting to the photographs being reproduced by the Council and/or third parties. All photographs will be reproduced anonymously.
