Amy Painton - Two Year ASBO

A 28 year old women has been given a two year ASBO following a hearing at Oxford Magistrates' Court on 23 June.
Amy Painton of no fixed abode has caused harrassment, alarm and distress to vulnerable residents living in temporary accommodation in Oxford by taking over and using their homes for prostitution and drug taking.
The ASBO stops the subject from entering any homelessness property in Oxford, a defined area in East Oxford, and from asking members of the public for money.
Ms Painton's victims were mainly vulnerable and in temporary accommodation. Her behaviour jeopardised their tenancies and their prospects of finding suitable permanent accommodation.
This order was obtained after a joint investigation by Oxford City Council's CANAcT team and Thames Valley Police following complaints received about the subject's behaviour from members of the public.
Steve Kilsby, Neighbourhood Services Manager at Oxford City Council, says: "This is a good result for the community. We are please that protection is now in place for vulnerable people living in homeless accommodation across the city.
"This sends out a strong message that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated by the Council or the Police and we will take every action that we can to protect the residents of Oxford.
"We hope that this order will help the subject, and give her a reason to turn her life around."
