Venturefest 2008 - Event for Businesses

Released on 25 Jun 2008

Venturefest, now in its 10th anniversary year, takes place over two days at the end of June and encourages people with innovative and high-tech business ideas (as well as other embryonic small businesses) to mix with financiers who may be interested in backing them. It has also become a highly regarded networking opportunity.

The event will take place at Unipart Group of Companies, Unipart House, Oxford on Monday 30 June and Tuesday 1 July 2008.

Venturefest is absolutely free of charge and open to all. Please visit the Venturefest website for more information and to register for the event.

Oxford City Council is sponsoring the event this year. As part of our duty to promote economic, environmental and social well-being, we are keen to support the local economy and develop better links with the business community. The nurturing of business development, particularly in the high tech sector, is important and we are pleased to support Venturefest in accommodating this.

In the current business climate we are particularly keen to help new and existing businesses achieve greater efficiency through reducing their carbon emissions and we will be showcasing our Carbon Management Programme and Business Climate Change Pledge at this year's Venturefest. We have recently launched a website giving businesses local advice on climate change. Please visit the Business section of the Oxford Is My World website for further information.
