Lord Mayor's Parade and Picnic 2008 - An Event to Remember

The 2008 Lord Mayor's Parade and Picnic will be going ahead on Bank Holiday Monday 26 May and this year it will be an event to remember.
The parade will depart Radcliffe Square at 11.30am and will move through Catte Street, Broad Street, Cornmarket Street, St. Aldate's, and Abingdon Road. It will finish in Hinksey Park at approximately 12.45pm.
The procession will have 3 scheduled breaks of approximately 5 minutes in Broad Street, Cornmarket and St. Aldate's between Speedwell and Thames Street.
It will be a walking parade of approximately 220 participants, including:
Following the Parade, people can enjoy the Lord Mayor's Picnic, which will take place in Hinksey Park from 12 Noon to 6pm.

Newly elected Lord Mayor of Oxford Susanna Pressel, says: "This year's Parade and Picnic will be an event to remember and I would encourage everyone to come along to enjoy all the fantastic entertainment on offer.
"There is a lot of excitement around this year's event and by working together with dozens of different organisations we will make the event a truly memorable spectacle for everyone in Oxford to enjoy."
Hinksey car park will be closed from 7am to 7pm on Monday the 26 May to enable event staff and participants to access the site.
Redbridge Park & Ride will be running throughout the day with services departing every 7-8 minutes and stopping at the Lake Street bus stop, adjacent to Hinksey Park.
Hinksey Park can be accessed by bike and is only a 10-15 minute walk from Oxford city centre.
Disabled parking will be available in the Hinksey park car park on the day.
