Steel Tree Unveiled

Released on 23 Jul 2008

A distinctive steel tree sculpture was unveiled at Magdalen College, Oxford on 22 July 2008.

The sculpture was created by Turner Prize winning artist Mark Wallinger who won the prestigious prize last year for his recreation of an anti-war protest.

The tree stands 10 metres tall and was created as part of the college's 550 year anniversary.

The tree is open to the public and stands at the back of the college grounds in a field of willow trees.

It is hoped that the sculpture could be used in future public art projects that will benefit the residents of the Oxford.
