Improved Access to Hinksey Park and Pool
Released on 4 Jul 2008
New parking rules at Hinksey Park car park will be enforced from Monday to improve access for users of the park and outdoor swimming pool.
Anyone using the car park will need to obtain a free 2 hour timed ticket, which needs to be displayed in the vehicle.
If users of the swimming pools are planning to stay more than 2 hours then they will need to exchange the free 2 hour timed ticket for a free permit which is available from the Hinksey Pool office. The permit will allow parking all day. The parking machine will issue two tickets so that one can be left in the vehicle while obtaining the permit from the pool office.
Any car not displaying a valid timed ticket or permit, or any car overstaying the time on a ticket/permit will receive a penalty notice.
Councillor Bob Timbs, Executive Board Member for Leisure and Parks says: "This new scheme will increase the availability of parking spaces for users of Hinksey park and the outdoor swimming pool, rather than spaces being taken up by long term users or commuters who aren't there to visit the park or use the pool facilities."
