Certificate of Honour Presentations

Released on 8 May 2008

On Friday 9 May 2008 Lord Mayor John Tanner presented Certificates of Honour to 18 people in recognition of their work in Oxford's communities.

The annual awards have been running for twenty years, and for the second year running The Oxford Rotary Club helped organise the event.

Certificates were presented to volunteers who carry out a wide variety of activities, from raising money to cleaning churchyards. All the winners have been helping the community for a long time, and make a significant difference.

Councillor John Tanner, says: "I am pleased by the quality of nominations we have received this year.

"The awards are an opportunity for the city to show its appreciation for the volunteers in our community who make a valuable contribution."
