City Council Planners consult on planning contributions and parking

Released on 5 Oct 2006

If you are interested in parking for new developments in the city or how our developer's contributions are calculated, you may want to comment on two draft Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs).

Oxford City Council has produced two SPDs - The Planning Obligations SPD and the Parking Standards Transport Assessment and Travel Plans SPD.

The Planning Obligations SPD sets out what is required of developers in the City.

It explains how Oxford City Council will try to make sure that its policies are carried out with speed, transparency and consistency.

It also provides technical advice on infrastructure requirements and formulae for calculating contributions and agreements.

The Parking Standards, Transport Assessments and Travel Plans SPD aims to promote good practice and design for parking for new development in the city. It covers parking for cycles and motorbikes as well as cars.

It also clarifies the requirements for Transport Assessment and Travel Plan submission from developers.

You will be able to see these documents and comment on them until Monday 13 November. You can visit the website on www.oxford.gov.uk/spd or visit the Planning offices in St Ebbe's Street or at Oxford's central and local libraries.

You can also talk to a planning officer on 01865 252 847 or email ldf@oxford.gov.uk
