How Should the West End Look?

Released on 18 Sep 2006

What needs to change in the West End? How should it look in the future? What's important for the local community?

These are questions that Oxford City Council are asking residents to help us shape the future of the West End.

There have already been early discussions about the Area Action Plan (AAP) with key stakeholders and residents.

We now want to hear your views on the "Preferred Options" report, which looks at the options for the West End.

We have produced a summary leaflet and questionnaire, which is available from our Planning Policy section or our Website West End page (scroll down to the bottom of the page to get to the link). As well as this, we are holding a workshop on Saturday 30 September to discuss the report, and we aim to stimulate debate and invite comments on the options.

The workshop is from 10am until 12.30pm in St. Aldates' Parish Centre in Pembroke Street.

A previous workshop that we held to discuss the Area Action Plan found that 93 per cent of those who attended agreed that the workshop had a friendly atmosphere. The remaining seven per cent partially agreed.

To find out more about the event,  please telephone 01865 252718 or visit our Website.

The consultation period for the "Preferred Options" closes on Friday 13 October.
