Oxford 2026: Have your say on potential major development sites in Oxford

Released on 17 May 2007

We're holding a public drop-in session to give Oxford residents and local organisations the chance to air their views on where major new housing and business developments should be located in the City.

This follows a major public consultation on broad planning issues last summer, and a series of public workshops and exhibitions that have taken place across Oxford over the last six weeks.

The 'Oxford Core Strategy Preferred Options' sets out possible locations for future development. The areas suggested are:

  • land at Pear Tree
  • land at Summertown
  • Southfield Golf Course (East part and West part)
  • land at Barton

The planners now want to hear your thoughts on these options. The informal drop-in session will have planning officers present to listen to people's views, and will be held in the Assembly Room, Town Hall, Oxford from 2pm to 8pm on Monday 21 May.

All those with an interest in the future development of Oxford are invited to call in any time during the session.

If anyone would like to comment or ask questions but cannot make the drop-in session, comments can still be sent before the end of May to Core Strategy Team, Planning Policy, Ramsay House, 10 St Ebbe's Street, Oxford OX1 1PT, or by email to ldf@oxford.gov.uk. Planning Policy can also be contacted on 01865 252847.
