West End Renaissance community exhibition

Released on 25 Sep 2008
An Oxford West End Renaissance community exhibition will take place on Saturday 4th October, between 9:30am and 1:30pm in Oxford Town Hall.

The exhibition will provide detailed information about the West End Renaissance, outlining the key developments and projects that will be taking place within the local area over the next few years. Members of the West End Partnership will be present to answer any questions, and are more than happy to chat through any concerns or suggestions that the local community may have.

Michael Crofton-Briggs, Oxford City Council's Head of City Development, will be on hand during the exhibition to answer specific questions. "The community exhibition will provide a clear overview of the planning framework for the regeneration of the West End. The local community will be able to read about future plans in more depth, find out about proposed development sites within the West End, and give their views on the Renaissance."

The exhibition follows on from the formal adoption of the West End Area Action Plan (AAP); all planning applications in the West End will now be assessed against the policies and proposals laid out in the document. This will ensure high quality design, social and environmental sustainability, and consideration of the area's heritage.

The exhibition is open to the local West End community and anyone who is interested to learn more about Oxford's exciting regeneration programme. There is no need to book, just simply turn up on the day.
