New centre for Oxford City Council tenants
Released on 9 May 2006
A new centre for tenants and leaseholders of Oxford City Council is opening on Wednesday 10 May.
The official launch will be attended by tenant representatives, representatives from partner agencies including Oxford Citizen's Housing Association (OCHA) and South Oxfordshire Housing Association (SOHA), Ruskin College and Oxford City Council officers.
The resource centre aims to give all tenants and leaseholders a chance to get involved in issues that affect them. It will also encourage and assist people from across Oxford and surrounding areas.
The centre in Horspath Road, Cowley, will be opened by Wesley Smith from Central News.
Tracy Roper, Oxford Tenants' Panel Chair, says: "This centre is the result of two years' hard work and dedication from tenants, volunteers and staff at Oxford City Council.
"I hope that many tenants will benefit from the centre, which has an IT Suite, information library and conference suite available for them to use."
Oxford Tenants' Panel is made up of representatives of the Tenant and Residents' Groups and will have its office at the centre.
