Latest NewsBe A Resident Reporter
We are asking you to send us your news stories about Oxford, its people and the good work that goes on in local areas every day. Their stories will then be posted on the Oxford City Council website for everyone to read. The "Be a Reporter" section is being launched to coincide with the launch of our new look website. Councillor David Rundle, Executive Member for Stronger Communities, says: "We are looking for interesting news stories about local areas, people who work to change Oxford for the better and organisations that do good work in Oxford. "There are hundreds of people in Oxford who work tirelessly for the community and we want to help publicise their work and celebrate their success. "We get around 25,000 visits to our website every week so each story will reach a huge audience made up of Oxford residents and people who are looking to visit the city." The "Be a Reporter" section will run for two months to gauge public reaction. The stories could also be chosen to appear in 'Your Oxford', our Council newsletter which is delivered to every household in Oxford. If you want to submit a story to our website, your stories should be a maximum of 500 words and in the style of any newspaper article. Your article should include quotes from people involved in the story and a picture that can also be posted on the website. When you have finished your article, email it to news@oxford.gov.uk making sure to attach a picture illustrating the story. For more information about the project visit of Be A Reporter webpage.
