What parks are in Oxford?

  • We look after seven large City Parks, 26 Local Parks and 22 Neighbourhood Parks.
  • For a great view of Oxford's spires, climb to the top of South Park
  • To see carved wooden sculptures, go to Bury Knowle Park in Headington
  • If you want a ride on a miniature railway, visit Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park in the North of Oxford
  • For floral displays, visit Florence Park in East Oxford
  • To use a pedal boat and walk around a lake, visit Hinksey Park, 15 minutes walk from Oxford's Centre.

Where can I play?

  • There are great adventure play areas in Meadow Lane and Whitehouse Road.
  • Visit Florence Park for a spider web climbing frame
  • Frys Hill Park has a climbing rock overlooking the Kassam Stadium.
  • Quarry Hollow has a massive slide and bumpy hills
  • Hundred Acre Park is packed full of play equipment
  • Find your nearest play area

Where can I play sport?

Opening Times

Bury Knowle Park, Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park, and South Park are all open 24 hours a day. Hinksey Park is also open 24 hours a day but the barrier for car access is locked at the times below and re-opens at 9.30am each morning. Florence Park is locked at the following times throughout the year and reopens at 8am each morning:

Bury Knowle park

Information about this park in north east Oxford.

Cutteslowe and Sunnymead

Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park is the largest park in Oxford. It is located in the far north of the city, and provides a variety of facilities. These include a skate park, river, pond, miniature railway, two play areas, bowls green, football pitches, cricket square, tennis courts, mini golf and much more.
