New Wrist Band System Introduced

How do you manage admissions on really busy days?

Hinksey Pool is a popular facility that gets very busy at times, especially if we have good weather. To ease the pressure, we've introduced a wrist band system. We hope this will reduce waiting times to enter the facility whilst allowing continued safe supervision of bathers in the water.

How will it work?

3 colours of wristband will be used. The first 50 customers entering the facility at the start of the day will be given a blue wrist band. The next 50 a red wrist band, and the next 50 a green wristband. This cycle is then repeated until all 250 wrist bands of each colour have been distributed.

When the pool reaches its maximum lifeguard to bather ratio the banding sytem will be used. This means that an announcement will be made saying that only red wristband holders can remain in the pool. After 20 minutes the red's must get out of the pool and the blue's can enter. After another 20 minutes the blues must get out and the greens may enter. This cycle will be repeated.

As customers leave the facility they must hand back their wrist bands. Once 20 of a colour of wrist band have been collected, then 20 new customers may enter the facility.

Security staff will be employed to help run this system. They will hand out and collect wrist bands. They will also assist Duty Managers and lifeguards with individuals who will not cooperate with the band system.
