Support facilitiesThe main entrance to the Town Hall is in St Aldate's. Eight steps lead up to the entrance foyer. There is a level entrance approximately 28 metres to the north along St Aldate's. The outer glass door at this entrance opens automatically to allow access to an inner entrance. CCTV linked to the Town Hall reception desk monitors the inner door. To the left of the inner glass door is a call button that will attract the receptionist's attention to allow access to the Town Hall ground floor. On entering the ground floor to the right is a double door through which is access to the reception desk and lift to the first floor. Please see our booklet giving details of access to individual rooms below:
Wheelchair AccessOur Premises Licence restricts the number of persons in wheelchairs we may admit to the public rooms. If you expect persons in wheelchairs to attend your event please speak to the booking staff in advance to avoid any possible embarrassment on the day. Inductive LoopSeveral rooms including the Main Hall are fitted with inductive loops that enable people who are hard of hearing to pick up what is being played or said through the amplification system without the problem of background noise or lack of volume. The listener must either have a suitable hearing aid or use special earphones that are available from the Town Hall staff on request. The use of the loop equipment and headphones is free to anyone with hearing problems who is attending an event where the amplification is being used.
