The park

South Park is 5 minutes walk from the Cowley Road in East Oxford (see location map). The postcode is OX4 1NT. It occupies 50 acres of open space, with magnificent views overlooking the City. The park was handed to the Council in 1951 with a covenant preserving it as an open space for the benefit of the public.

The park is a popular location for numerous events, including:

  • The Lord Mayor's parade
  • an annual fireworks display
  • fairs
  • a circus
  • music concerts

You can catch a Balloon flight from South Park with Adventure Balloons between April and October.

South Park is open 24 hours a day.
