Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park

Where is it?

Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park is the largest park in Oxford. It is located in the far north of the city (directions). There are regular bus services to the park, run by the Oxford Bus Company (routes 2, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 7D) and Stagecoach (17, 17A and 17C). The postcode for the park is OX2 8NP (Northern end) or OX2 7XD in the South.

Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park was recently awarded a Green Flag Award by the Civic Trust. The Green Flag Award is the national standard for parks and green spaces in England and Wales. 

What can I do there?

  • Cool off in the paddling pool (open July - August)
  • Use the 18 control orienteering course (maps available in the kiosk)
  • Use the two children's play areas
  • Book the football pitches or cricket square
  • Sit by the duck pond
  • Use the steam train on the miniature railway line
  • Admire the ornamental flower beds
  • Skate the concrete skate park with ramps and grind rail
  • Play football or basketball in the streetsports site
  • Use the ping pong table
  • Play Miniature Golf (hire clubs in the kiosk)
  • Play in the outdoor Tennis Courts (book at the kiosk)
  • You can catch a Balloon flight from Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park with Adventure Balloons between April and October.

How can I get involved in the park?

If you are interested in having a more active say in the running of the park, or would like to get more involved in projects there, read about becoming a Friend of the Park. If you would like to use the Community Room in the park, contact the North Oxford Association. If you would like to plant a memorial tree in the park, please contact us.

What's planned for the future of the park?

The future of the park is outlined in the 10 year Management Plan.
