Homes Improvement Works Plan

By 31 December 2010 all our properties will meet the Decent Homes Standards. To meet this standard we need to look at age and condition of our properties and items in them such as central heating.

Tenants' homes are regularly surveyed to ensure that we have up to date records of their condition. When we survey homes we records any items that need replacing or upgrading. We look at the age and the condition of the items in the property. On average a central heating boiler will last 15 years, a roof 50 years and kitchen units 20 years.  

Once we have surveyed our properties we produce a plan of the work we need to carry out and when we will do it. This plan does not include general maintenance and repairs. Also, while we try and visit and survey every home we are not always able to do so.
